World Mountain Forum 2014 - Call for contributions

During the World Mountain Forum 2014 to be held in Cusco, Peru 23-24 May, 2014; ARCOS will co-lead the first topic on Small agriculture and food security in mountains.
For this, we are calling for abstracts from all participants who want to contribute on this topic. Contributions should focus on small agriculture (family farms, including pastoralism) and they should address food security through one of the following themes:
  • Land and water management (cropland including terracing; grazing lands, forests)

  • Institutions and governance (local, national)

  • Infrastructure and market development (including energy supply)

  • Livelihoods, (poverty, migration, vulnerability-resilience, gender)

Contributions which combine several of the above four themes are also welcome. All contributions should be evidence-based (research, concrete implementation, etc.) and we are looking forward to receive a short abstract (not more than 1000 Characters including spaces).
