Friends of the Albertine Rift

ARCOS has launched a new initiative “Friends of the Albertine Rift”, with which individuals can contribute to ARCOS’ mission and activities in the region. In turn for a small annual contribution (US$10.00 or more as deemed appropriate), each Friend receives a card as Friend of the Albertine Rift, an ARCOS cap and an attractive T-shirt. Our bi-annual newsletter Backbone/Le Pilier is sent to each Friend, as well as and – in near future – a more frequent bulletin with stories and opportunities in the Rift.

Donations

Donations may be in the form of money or in kind. These are mainly received from individuals or institutions who enrol as donors for one of more projects of our projects (restricted funding) or ARCOS general activities (non-restricted activities).

Partnership and Support

To implement its programmes and activities, ARCOS advocates and builds on partnerships, collaboration and support from a wide range of stakeholders, local communities and different organizations and institutions involved in the conservation in the region, but also external organisations and institutions interested in the conservation issues in the Albertine Rift. Partnership is open to organisations and institutions within and outside the Albertine Rift region. Every relationship is treated individually but in general, partnership with local organisations will focus mainly on project implementation, information exchange and technical assistance. Partnership with institutions outside the Albertine Rift will be in most cases through “Associate Organisations” and could involve for example information and technical exchange, financial support, etc.
